I was drawn to the black against white graphicness of the hand-painted face on this
seems not to be this fancified boy but rather the bird perched on his finger--though it seems quite likely there's satire at play here
I would most definitely stop and head that way
Infinity Box! ASW's 1892 Set of Five Handmade, Jointed Boxes, Very Precisely Nesting ceramic and very much for theA great delight finding this one. There's rarely a closed box of this sort I don't shake to see if there might be something (like kindergarten blocks!) inside, which was wise in this case or I might never have known there were four more boxes, of perfectly graduated scales, housed within it. (With subtly graduated patinas to the wood, too, the smallest looking as though it had never seen the light of day since its construction in 1892! Signed ASW,
