I'm not totally sure but would guess it's hand forged

such that the lid sits very nicely

but she is in overall very good condition

M Kensinger, carefully written in cursive along the interior edge of the hypotenuse. Just a nice thing to keep on the desk (or hang on a nail near it) , and looking at it makes me at least want to sit down and make precise, intensively patterned geometric drawings. I'm not certain the age of this, but it's definitely got some years; there is no mark except a "9"
