This medal replaced the earlier India General Service Medal which had covered the campaigns from 1854

A This year we have created a bust of Lord Kitchener in honour of the World War I Centenary

the Military Cross was issued for gallantry in presence of the enemy to warrant and junior officers of the Army who were ineligible (on account of their rank) for the Distinguished Service Order

GSM Borneo Clasp Decorations This medal replaced the earlierAwarded to soldiers who served under Major General Walker fighting Indonesian insurgents in Malaya. This is the BAR ONLY and is supplied ready to be fitted to a General Service Medal 1962 onwards. Please note that fitting of these clasps requires specialist equipment.
